Some of the responsibilities held by the Kkobe Clan in the Buganda Kingdom

1. Omutaka Namwama in the past fetched Mukasa (god of the sea and birth) from Ssese Islands to be honoured and to solve problems for the reigning king and his people.

2. Ow'essiga Lwabiriza of Katoolingo, performs two rituals:

a) Digs graves for the dead princes

b) Used to remove the King's jaw-bone for preservation and honour (This custom has long ceased).

3. Kkobe men from muwanzi fix the King's spears and for that matter are referred to as 'Abawanzi'.

4. Ow'essiga Wanda, plays for the King a flute known as 'Mwokoola'. Wanda does this with Makanga of Mmamba clan who blows a flute called Kawunde.

5. Ow'essiga Kakinda (manufactures and sews the bark-cloth which the king to-be adorns for the coronation ceremony.

6. Kkobe clans-men are the King's hunters headed by Owesigga Namukangula.

7. Omutaka Kutulako is responsible for the cultural and ceremonial opening of the road to Naggalabi at a place called Kasenge. This is a road through which a crowning prince of Buganda passes through on his way to his coronation at Naggalabi - Buddo, Busiro county.
